Perfect for entertaining!
Individual Charcuterie Boards
Individual Charcuterie Boards are so easy to create and are something simple you can do to add more color, texture and creativity while hosting a dinner or event. Large charcuterie boards with 50 different ingredients on them are great too but this past year, people have pushed “shareables” to the side a bit and opted for individualized foods. I must say, I am quite loving it! Miniature anything just has this, “awe so cute” factor. Plus, there is no feeling bad for being the one to take the last bite of something because it is all meant for you.
Steps
Start with a clean miniature cutting board. I bought the ones photographed at Aldi on the beloved “aisle of shame” and they measure about 4”x6”. There are many options available for mini boards on Amazon and Etsy! You can also get creative and put ingredients into small bakery boxes, on tapas plates, trays, and more.
Start piling on ingredients to each board beginning with the large items like cheese, meat and crackers. I did an extra step today by creating a rose-like pair from the deli meats. To do this, just take 3 to 4 thin slices of salami or something similar, arrange them in a row. Fold that row in half and then roll the meat together and secure with a toothpick.
Next, place the fruit, nuts and chocolate on board filling in all the gaps so you have this nice full bundle of delicious snacks. Once the board is complete, add a special touch. Some dark chocolate with almonds and sea salt and a dried rose is what I used today. Another favorite item to use that ends up as my go-to normally as that special touch are fresh rosemary sprigs to add a nice aromatic and color.
Can I switch Ingredients Up?
The best part of charcuterie boards is the unlimited options. Just stick to the basics of grabbing cheeses (preferably more than one), nuts, crackers, meat and fruit. Another great addition are olives which I wish I put on these boards because they are lovely to snack on. Some of my other favorite boards options include strawberries, raspberries, grapes, cashews, walnuts, pepperoni, gouda cheese and buttery crackers.
